Wychwood Community

Boarding schools build powerful relationships and these are reflected in the organisations that have evolved with Wychwood and support the school.

Our former pupils make up the largest group in the community and there are around 2,600 old girls living and working in the UK and around the world. The Wychwood Association is a powerful network of women who not only enjoy keeping in touch with each other, but who support the school in a wide range of ways. This includes supporting current pupils considering future careers by running a biennial Careers Fair where they give up their time and expertise to explain their particular professions to current girls and parents. They also support the school's university fair in alternate years by discussing their paths to and through university and inspiring current girls. In addition they come back to lecture, judge form plays or to take assemblies.

Current parents are able to join Friends of Wychwood (FOW). This very important group supports the school by helping at events such as Open Morning, the University Fair, and the Careers Fair and they also run events for and on behalf of the parent body. They raise money for important items and equipment to benefit their daughters such as animation software and sports equipment. The committee meets three times a year in an informal manner but achieves great things such as the now eagerly looked forward to Christmas Fair and annual Welcome to Wychwood drinks evening. It is an excellent way to contact other parents and to become part of the school community.

Both these groups work together to have the most impact. Please do explore the information on this part of the website to find out more.
